“Earning their Claws, Bruising their Paws” is our weekly look at the individual Cougars that pounced on their opportunities for Pac-12 greatness (earning claws) and also those that stumbled and bumbled their way to forgettable performances, (bruising their paws) in the process. Let’s get into it.
Saturday was a record-setting night for a few Cougars, including an offensive performance that garnered a Pac-12 record 630 passing yards in the process. The poor Vikings from Portland State never really stood a chance against Mike Leach’s vaunted attack and for the first time since Leach has been here the Cougs did two things; score 50 points and truly responded to put a team away when the game started getting tight.
The Cougs did so well that there are no bad things to say this week about any one player. So before we look towards the Ducks, let’s look back at a couple Cougs who stole the show last week.
