Over the weekend the Washington State Cougars held ‘A Night With Cougar Football’ in Seattle, where many a fan gave their ear to head coach Mike Leach. In a very newsworthy moment, Leach made what we and Cougfan both thought was an opening prediction on the 2014 season:
"Speaking on behalf of the entire team, we feel like we should have nine.”"
Of course that prompted our article HERE, but as CF.C informed us recently, Leach was not actually making a prediction for 2014. Instead, he was reminiscing on what was 2013, saying that the Cougars should have ended with nine victories after letting three get away.
We may not actually get a prediction from the Leachster after all (maybe he would predict 13-0, you do go out to win them all, after all), but one still has to feel that he thinks at least nine wins are possible in a schedule that falls off on the difficulty scale from a season ago. The Cougs will start up their quest on 2014 later this month, when Spring ball kicks off.
