Prediction and Early Impact: The Cougars secondary is only losing 3 of their 10 defensive backs from the 2013 season. Because of the depth and the youth of the secondary I don’t see Griffin getting playing time in his first year and utilizing his red shirt to catch up with the system at Washington State.
Griffin is a physical player who is able to utilize his speed in zone coverage and cover a larger area at once. Griffin is able to utilize his speed in keeping up with the receiver in man coverage as well. One thing I liked about Griffin is his ability to high-point the ball and knock it down. He doesn’t have the best hands but can easily get a hand on the ball and knock it down.
With a year in the weight room Griffin will be able to bulk up a little and become a big name in the Cougars secondary in his later years at Washington State.
