With a new week it is time for another Washington State opponent preview and this week we have the Utah Utes on the schedule.

More from Washington State Football

Utah (3-0) will be visiting Washington State (1-3) in Pullman this weekend and the Cougars will be looking to leave Salt Lake City with their first conference win. Both teams have shown flashes of greatness in all sections of the game. Utah has a stellar special teams and can really put a dent in the game with their play. On defense both teams showed big things last week when Washington State slowed down the fast running game of the Ducks and when Utah completely kept Michigan out of the red zone.

Utah quarterback, Travis Wilson, has hit many different obstacles in his career and at one point last season it was said that Wilson would never play again. Last weekend he took a vicious hit and landed on his head and was sidelined for a little bit before coming back into the game.

Wilson and the rest of the Utes have yet to play a team that has proven what they can do on both sides of the ball. Michigan has yet to prove themselves and Fresno State and Idaho State are not in the top tier of teams. In the first two games Utah had a combined score of 115-41 and didn’t slow down any when they took on Michigan.

You will find a statistical preview of the matchup this weekend.
