A former Cougar himself, Paul Wulff is among the worst coaches in collegiate football history, much less in the Washington State record books.

Four years into his five-year contract with the Cougs, Wulff had led the team to 40 losses and just nine wins. During the 2009 season, Washington State didn’t see a single conference win and finished the year with a 1-11 overall record.

Wulff has the lowest winning percentage in program history at just 18.4 percent. As the 31st head coach of the Washington State Cougars, he is truly the worst head coach that has ever set foot in Pullman.

Following Wulff’s four-year stint with the Cougs, Washington State hired Leach who truly turned the program back around.
