Get to know a Cougar

In a new weekly segment this year we will introduce the masses to a member of the WSU Football team. Much attention is given to key skill positions and senior leaders so here you will learn about players a little further from the spotlight.

In the inaugural edition the unlucky wheel was spun and landed on: B.J. Salmonson.

B.J. enters his 3rd season with the football program, as a Redshirt Sophmore, listed at 6-4, 295 lbs. In a bit of a surprise, B.J. is listed as the backup center for the Cougar offense after spending the entirety of the 2014 season not listed on the depth chart. Many expected Sam Flor to remain at #2 or potentially vie for the starting job this year.

“Apparently Mr. Salmonson keeps a pretty low profile.”

Salmonson appeared in 7 games last season with most of his playing time on special teams.

A native of Everson, WA and proud alum of the Nooksack Valley Pioneers, B.J. was part of the 2012 WSU recruiting class. According to Cougfan.com, the Cougs were the only program that showed much interest.

Whelp, that’s about all the information I could find from the vast depths of the world wide internet. Apparently Mr. Salmonson keeps a pretty low profile. If anyone knows him please have him contact the author via Twitter @allcougdup so we can post some juicy information about this silent soldier of the trenches.

Go Cougs.
