Washington State Uni Watch: White Helmet to be Revealed vs Oregon Ducks?

The Washington State Cougars have been talking about the possibility of a white helmet addition to their gray ‘home’ and crimson ‘away’ helmet combinations and it looks like we finally have it.

Thanks to @WSUCougfb:

The helmet is reminiscent of the Pac-12 Media Days helmet that the Cougs were showcased with, except the difference of a crimson instead of a gray logo.

To me, this is a very classy and well done third helmet for WSU, if indeed it ends up in the rotation. It also has a symmetrical feel to it, being exactly opposite the ‘road’ crimsons with the white logo. Now of course it’s about figuring out when the Cougs will bust this uniform out.

It would seem fitting to do it against the Oregon Ducks this coming weekend in some sort of “white-out” fashion, although the Cougs have never worn white jerseys at home. The game is a rare full-sellout and of course represents the kings of the alternate jersey in college football. Another good-looking option for WSU, obviously, is the red top and bottom combo with this.

While I do love the anthracite jersey combination, I’m not so sure I would love the all-grays with the white helmet, so I’m hoping the Cougs don’t come out in that on Saturday. However I’m excited for the newest look either way.

It wouldn’t make sense to show these and then not use them the same week, so look for Washington State to come out wearing white helmets on Saturday. If the Cougs can find some big plays like they did in week 1 against Rutgers and last week against Portland State they should make quite a game out of it against the second-ranked Ducks.
