The stars are starting to really align for coach Ernie Kent and Washington State this offseason, Nyaires “Nye” Redding is the latest to verbally commit to the Cougars.
Redding has point guard ability but is a scorer first and at 6’2″, 178 lbs could easily slide over into the two role if and when necessary. In fact he averaged 30 points, 9 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game this past season at Westwind Prep in Pheonix, AZ to lead the team.
Verbal Commits has him ranked as a 2-star prospect and none of the other ranking systems are up to speed with Nye, but with those numbers and a commitment to Kent he’s sure to jump to 3-star status across the board in short order. He also has received offers from Mizzou, Boston College, Bowling Green
So once again, Kent gets a kid that is already adept at scoring the rock, something that earlier this Spring he said he is most interested in accomplishing on a regular basis here at WSU. Basketball is on the right track ladies and gentlemen!
Recent Coug-commit Jackie Davis Jr. was also in town along with former Cal commit (now available prep prospect) Ahmaad Rorie this weekend. Davis officially signed his letter of intent while there is no word on Rorie as of yet.
