So we were looking at the Washington State Cougars a couple weeks back when we got some very disturbing news that WSU’s most experienced talent at cornerback could be facing suspension in the wake of a fight. This is what happened, via Cougfan on the day we found out about the incident;

"According to the report, WSU Police responded to a report that a man had assaulted a man and woman during an argument. The female victim suffered concussion-like symptoms and the male victim suffered minor injuries from allegedly being hit in the face."

Of course the three automatic Mike Leach disqualifications are drug use (of any kind), stealing and… you guessed it (or knew it), slapping women around. So… according to the report, he’s gone… right?

Lee Corso interjection here; Not so fast my friends! Since that time we’ve been informed that Austin Brown, who was caught stealing on camera at Wal-Mart, has been given his walking papers, but Daquawn’s name hasn’t come up in any of such conversations and all we can do is to continue to hope that he does not.

We’ll know for sure if he’ll at least begin Spring in “good” standing, or not. Spring practices start Thursday and the roster should come out before then. If he’s inked on the roster as I think we are hoping for, we can all take a deep breath and just enjoy Spring football giving us a slight reprieve before the Draft in May.
