Prediction and Early Impact:
Andre Dillard is the exact type of kid that you want in your program and he’s a really solid prospect for the future. He’s got outstanding footwork moving to the next level and just a general relentlessness. He’s also got a tremendous attitude about everything.
The problem Dillard is going to run into immediately is his size deficiency. In the long run that shouldn’t be a problem at all, but for the time being 240-245 just isn’t big enough for Pac-12 football at any of the five spots on the offensive line. He is already working on bulking up. He is an exciting local product to keep an eye on, especially as we move into his redshirt sophomore season.
Dillard is a WSU ‘Legacy’ product, his dad Mitch Dillard played in the late 80’s. Mostly that’s important because he comes from a football savvy family. Also, his commitment to being ready to go when he arrives on campus is evident, he passed up his senior season of basketball to hit the weights and add bulk as fast as possible.
