WSU Women’s Basketball: Late Season Predictions

facebooktwitterreddit

Washington State women’s basketball is causing a lot of excitement in the Pac-12, currently ranked fifth in conference under head coach June Dougherty. Below are my predictions for the rest of the season.

WSU Women’s Basketball Conference Standings Prediction 2014: 17 – 13

UCLA: WIN

STANFORD: LOSS

CALIFORNIA: WIN

UTAH: WIN

COLORADO: WIN

OREGON STATE: LOSS

OREGON: LOSS

CALIFORNIA: WIN

STANFORD: LOSS

The Cougs have already faced Oregon and Oregon State, falling in both games. Stanford will be a tough team, currently ranked first in NCAA Pac-12 standings. Moving on to the NCAA tournament (if they can win enough games to get there), the Cougars should be in a good spot to win some games. To advance or take home any trophies, the Cougs will have to minimize rebound and shooting errors, and intensify their chemistry on the court.

There have been moments this season where the team gets off to a slow start early in the game, and many times WSU has made huge comebacks, but rocky beginnings can’t happen in the Pac-12 or NCAA Tournaments. Everyone will be on the top of their game as well as their adrenaline levels, so it’s important that the Cougars take care of the ball early and often. It will be exciting to see how the remainder of the season goes and what’s in store for the program.

Go Cougs!
