A true freshman. Went to Dorsey High School 4 miles from the LA Coliseum. Offers from UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, and Cal. Starting for the Cougs in his own backyard matching up against NFL bound Marqise Lee, Daquawn was thrown into a trial by fire, and came out glowing.
No one thinks that Brown is ready for Sundays, but he certainly has a hunger to prove himself we love. His interceptions against Southern Utah and Cal were just markers for better things to come. He is putting himself in good places, but still has to listen more closely to his upper-class teammates and coaches in order to develop.
More than anything we felt that the defense was better when he was on the field. The seniors brought experience, but that only allowed Daquawn to work harder to prove that he was the future.
He has the talent, but work is what will propel him to the NFL like so many alums of the Wazzu Secondary. We have a ways to go, but Coug fans should be happy that we have #25 joining us for that ride. Final grade: B
