3-star, 6’3, 205 pound wide receiver Barry Ware was the talk of the Palouse last week after a few players and fans tweeted some messages to the effect of “welcome BarryWare2 to the family”. Obviously, we were all waiting to hear the official word throughout the week, but as the weekend came and we didn’t hear news the anxiety set in a little for WSU recruiting fans.
Finally, after the dynamic prospect took his final visit to Fresno State, he knew that he wanted to be in Pullman.
Ware gives the Cougars a full class of receivers at five, and what a class it is. Bishop WSU I think puts it best in this tweet.
Preach Bishop!
Seriously, Mike Leach and Co. have to be excited about the incoming class; Harrington, Monroe, Green, Andre and now Ware in addition to the transfer of former 4-star prospect and Texas A&M receiver Sebastian LaRue is just an exciting thing to think about as a fan and I’m sure a WSU quarterback. All five of those 2014 prospects are 3-star receivers and the skill sets are quite varied.
Ware was at one time a solid UCLA commit but things kind of fell apart in Hollywood as the Bruins became interested in other receivers. Regardless, his ultimate flip to WSU is just another terrific example of how well the coaching staff is staying after their guys and getting some very impressive talent. If you’re looking for a great scouting report on Ware, SB Nation has you covered. If you’re just looking for some highlights:
EXCITED YET!?
Stay tuned as this stretch run continues for the Cougs and the rest of the college football world.
Go Cougs!
