Washington State’s bone crushing safety Deone Bucannon is headed to the Senior Bowl after accepting an spot as part of the fourth round of Senior Bowl participant invitations.

Bucannon is a bonafide early round talent and had great numbers to prove it throughout his career at WSU. This was the year he really proved to be an NFL-ready gamer, leading the Pac-12 in tackles with 109 and forcing a number of turnovers. Five interceptions, three forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles were the turnover tallies for Bucannon.

“Buck” was named to the first team all Pac-12 team last week. His career tackle and interception totals are good for top 10 finishes in their respective categories in Wazzu history.

Bucannon is part of a four safety list right now in the game. It’s a list that includes Jimmie Ward (NIU), Dontae Johnson (NCST) and Terrence Brooks (FSU).

This year’s Senior Bowl all-star game is sponsored by Reese’s and will be played in Mobile, Alabama on Jan. 25. The entire list of accepted invitees can be found HERE.
