This one is my 6th key to a victory and the only reason I bring this to the table is because we all know what happened last year. In a game that was won by special teams it reminds you that this is one of the most important parts to this game.

Andrew Furney was the hero of last year’s Apple Cup, while Travis Coons, the Washington Punter/Kicker, was the guy who essentially lost the game after missing a field goal as time expired for Washington.

Field position will be a big part of this game and with a punter that has struggled in recent weeks it plays an even bigger role in this game. If Washington or Washington State is able to capitalize of the field position mistakes by the other team  look for that team to gain momentum.

All of these special teams players for both teams know what’s at stake and they know that if they make a mistake it could cost them the game.
