Washington State claimed victory against the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, Arizona Sunday. Here are some photos from the exciting Cougar win!

The Washington State Cougars took down the Arizona Wildcats 24-17 on a beautiful Saturday in Tuscon, at least for WSU.

The Cougars forced two Wildcat turnovers and Arizona missed two field goals in the second half. WSU also missed a field goal, but after the Wildcats missed their second, the Cougs went down the field and left their kicker, Andrew Furney, on the sideline by scoring a touchdown.

WSU quarterback Connor Halliday was terrific on the day, going 39 of 53 for 319 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception. He led the Cougars on a game winning drive, concluded with a beautiful 25 yard touchdown pass on the run with 2:15 left.

For Arizona, Ka’Deem Carey carried the ball 26 times for 132 yards and a touchdown to go along with a receiving touchdown. B.J. Denker tried to bring the Wildcats back but after being tackled with no timeouts remaining in bounds was forced to throw to the end zone and threw it too far out of bounds as his receiver made the catch but couldn’t get his feet down as time expired.

The big play of the game was momentum changing at the beginning of the second half when a bad snap on a punt gave the Cougars the ball deep in Cats’ territory. WSU would score to go up 17-14 and never relinquished the lead.
