WSU Women’s Rugby is nothing short of talented. The team has two Division II National Championships  and continues to dominate their league, going undefeated in the Babbfest tournament last weekend. One of the teams WSU beat in the tournament was UW, with a score of 52-0. The Cougs played a total of three games, ending the tournament with no points scored against them.

WSU Women’s Rugby Club President, Noehly Tzintzun, shared some of her thoughts about the team, saying, “We have a lot of individual potential and talent on this team, but overall when we are in a pitch, we play and work as one.”

Two National Championships is proof this team is one to watch out for here at WSU. Club sports make up a large part of the athletic culture, and expand into many different types of sport. The success shown by this team while volunteering their time and commitment to the sport out of sheer passion shows that is the sport to watch through the upcoming months.

Speaking of women’s sports here at WSU, Women’s Basketball battled to the finish, falling to Syracuse 69-65, in Beasley Coliseum Sunday. Guard Tia Presley scored 20 points on the night, followed by Sage Romberg with 15 points. The Cougars head to the West side Tuesday, to face Seattle University.
