Beat writer Christian Caple is all on top of Washington State against … well, anybody. He got the opportunity this week to answer five questions from AL.com in a breakdown of what to expect from the Cougs. In the interview he answers the question of who he thinks will come out victorious on Saturday:
"WSU showed in a couple different games last season that it could be pretty stout against the run. They held Stanford to a pretty bleak offensive day, and did the same at Oregon State. So I think the potential is there for this group to give Auburn trouble if the plan is simply to try to run the ball down WSU’s throat all day. But there’s no arguing with the kind of athletes Auburn has on its roster, and the homefield advantage could end up playing a pretty big role. I picked Auburn, 34-23, in our paper the other day, so I’ll stick with that."
Christian also talks about his thoughts on Connor Halliday, the Cougar defense and Mike Leach’s thoughts on getting back to his winning ways.
