After seeing Marquess Wilson who was the only Coug to get drafted by the Chicago Bears late in the 7th round, it wasn’t long until we started to see some players signing that went undrafted.
Very shortly after the draft, Jeff Tuel signed with the Buffalo Bills per his Twitter account. Now we are just waiting on Travis Long, as Wade Jacobson just announced on his Facebook account yesterday that he’s signed with the Washington Redskins:” https://www.facebook.com/Mr.Bunyon?fref=ts
His post read “Well it’s official. Headed to Washington for the Redskins!!!!!” This is some more great news as we are now just waiting on to see if NFL teams are going to give Travis Long a chance that he really does deserve to get. There was no other news about this signing other than his post on Facebook, compared to Tuel’s signing with the Bills that we know is a 3 year deal. Jacobson and Tuel both played together in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game back on January. 11 at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
The shock that comes out of this news is that during late season, everyone believed that Travis Long had the best chance of getting drafted than any other WSU player. That was clearly not the case as Wilson was drafted, Tuel and Jacobson both signed a deal with a NFL team before him. This definitely hurts his chances as it remains unknown if any teams are interested in him at all. Hopefully we hear some news regarding Travis Long very soon.
