The brother of one of my favorite all-time Cougars, Marcus Trufant, is headed into the NFL as a first round selection by the Atlanta Falcons. Of course Desmond didn’t play for WSU, he headed to the West side of the state and used his talents for the purple and gold. Now he’s headed to the Black and Red of Atlanta at pick no. 22.
Of course Marcus is an unrestricted free agent this season after being a long time Seattle Seahawk. He was selected 11th overall after his star studded career at Washington State, so he still has a virtual leg up on his brothers. The other Trufant, Isaiah, has been a star of the Arena Football League but has currently broken his way into the NFL, being signed onto the active Jets roster.
The NFL Draft continues tonight with rounds 2 and 3. If you’re interested like me in hearing what Desmond has to say about his drafting by his new team, click the link below for the live press conference at noon.
