New defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, will be bringing in the 3-4 defense. The Chiefs bring a star studded cast to the linebacker core with the likes of Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, and Justin Houston. With that being said they will need to add another inside linebacker, to go along side Derrick Johnson. With them running a 3-4 defense they wont be drafting Travis as a DE, so outside linebacker is his only shot with the chiefs.

The Chiefs will look to add some depth later in the draft to the outside linebackers, if they have filled all their other holes, and keep in mind, these are the Chiefs, they have a few holes to fill.

The Perfect Storm:

This seems to be a decent fit for Long, with the Chiefs bringing in the 3-4 scheme, they will need a lot of depth at the outside linebacker position. First things first after they draft their O lineman of the future, they will probably look secondary as, their pass defense last year was their Achilles heal. After that, anythings game; and I would look for them to be adding depth to that outside line-backing core late in the draft where Travis is projected to go.

Liklihood of Getting Drafted By The Chiefs:

B – If he’s around late in the draft, and they rated high, this could be a steal for the Chiefs. I can see this happening.
