In an NFL Network seven round mock draft by draft analyst Josh Norris, Washington State has two players drafted in the 7th round. They aren’t the two I expected though. How about Marquess Wilson and Jeff Tuel making the cut while Travis Long goes undrafted?

This is a very interesting development, not just Long being left out, but the fact that Marquess goes so low into the 7th. I’ve been recently thinking he might be as high as a 3rd rounder in this draft, but if the Jets get him at #215 where he’s projected here, they will have the potential steal of the draft. Remember Wilson was a low first round projection going into the season and despite missing the final 3 weeks due to personal choice, still put in a productive season. In our Wilson/Jets analysis, we did peg New York as a top fit for the young receiver, so no surprise there.

Meanwhile, Jeff Tuel started the offseason process nowhere near the draft board and has apparently jumped up the latter. If Atlanta gets him in the seventh I would be very happy for Jeff. He fits very well in Atlanta and is a similar quarterback to Ryan. In fact if I had to make a quarterback projection for Jeff, Matt Ryan and Ryan Fitzpatrick would be my choices of comparison.

The NFL Draft begins tomorrow and if these projections ring true in any way, no Cougar will go until Saturday. We’ll be staying tuned the whole time regardless, keeping you updated if anything happens earlier.

Go Cougs!
