Marquess Wilson and the NFL: Arizona Cardinals

Marquess Wilson Profile

Arizona Cardinals

Stacked Against the Pick:

It seems to me like the only thing that could make this pick not eventually happen is getting to Marquess to late. Long as he’s on the board, AZ should be considering adding his talents.

The Perfect Storm:

Everything seems to make sense to me in Arizona right now for Wilson. He’s a tremendous value beyond the 2nd round and a team like the Cardinals who are picking relatively early in each round are in a prime position to get him. But the biggest thing is that the Cardinals right now are cruising the table with maybe the fewest at the position in the NFL with only 5 receivers on the current roster and they’ll need at least 3 more just to compete for roster spots.

If there is a team that makes more sense than Indianapolis for Marquess, it’s the Cardinals. Bruce Arians has done a lot of things right with the roster this offseason, but the chief to-do list item now is receiver. I’d be really surprised not to see Wilson come off of the board to AZ by the 4th, though I think as early as the 3rd is viable.

Likelihood of Getting Drafted by Cardinals:

A+ (tough to argue with the reality of the numbers here. Arizona needs guys and Wilson will be the best available after the 2nd)
