Despite being a good looking receiver from an athletic standpoint in Dallas, Marquess is a terrible personnel fit there. The first and most obvious issue is that the Cowboys already have a premadona in the corps with Dez Bryant and there’s no need to add another possible issue there. The ‘Boys just simply do not need another kid that they have to babysit after having to deal with Pac Man, Dez and a handful of others over the past 5 or 6 seasons.
Then there’s the fact that Marquess is known for dropping the easy pass, and that’s already covered in ‘Big D’ too. Not sure if I can imagine the newly minted Romo’s reaction to an entire series of dropped passes because two of his biggest receivers (in terms of size) just didn’t concentrate all that hard on the football. Um, yes, Dez Bryant also gets “bored” from time to time, and it drives Dallas fans and Tony Romo nuts.
The Perfect Storm:
Despite what I just laid out, Jerry Jones is a sucker for the theatrical and a ‘steal’ type player. Wilson would fit both bills to a tee and could be on the radar as a late round pickup if he clears through. The upside on Wilson is of course pretty high, so don’t be surprised to see Jones pull out a surprise on Saturday, should Marquess still be in play.
