Stacked Against the Pick:
The Titans seem to have gone athletic at defensive end and linebacker over the last couple years and really for the last several since acquiring Javon Kearse in the draft a while ago. Travis Long does not fit the profile of overly “athletic”, certainly not your freak-type athlete, though he would add some good depth behind that. Still, I expect the Titans to take at least one “athletic” player with more tools than Long has early and then looking at their defensive backfield and maybe O-line after that.
The Perfect Storm:
While I don’t think Long is on the Tennessee radar, I think he could add something they don’t currently have at either position; The ability to follow through on any given play. Long is a relentless pursuer and the Titans don’t necessarily have that type of mentality. They are more of an all-or-nothing type defense and a lot of times it’s come up nothing. Maybe he gets a look in the 7th or free agency but I don’t really expect it from the Titans.
Likelihood of Getting Drafted by Titans:
