Peyton Bender (6’2” 180 Ibs) out of Fort Lauder dale, Florida was offered by Mike Leach and his staff about 24 hours ago and committed instantly. One thing for sure is that he got plenty of time to visit the campus just like Tyler Bruggman did last year as he has been in Pullman since Wednesday. He’s coming all the way from Florida, may this be a problem? It sure doesn’t seem so.

As a junior, the Miami Herald regular season stat book had Bender completing 96-of-176 passes for 1,402 yards with 15 TDs against six interceptions. He’s a member of  the Sun Sentinel Top 50 Class for 2014.

What does this coaching staff like about him so much?

He has a very quick release, he run’s a very similar style at his high school, and the fact that he has a understanding of what he’ll be doing at Washington State. Another thing that this coaching staff may like is that he doesn’t get out and scramble a lot. At times last season it seemed this coaching staff wasn’t a huge fan of Jeff Tuel scrambling so much.

A note that is interesting is that Mike Morrill, his head coach is a Texas Tech Alum and a big fan of Mike Leach. Also, Bender split time at QB last season with a Senior.
