Prediction & How He Improves Cougars in 2013:
Wicks is perhaps the most exciting running back commit for Washington State in 2013 and here is why: Quickness, power, vision, size, speed and ability to finish. He has it all!
Washington State has switched to the Air Raid offense under Mike Leach and as we saw last year smaller, quick backs don’t produce results in this offense. When you go inside you need a big guy who can run over a couple people for initial yards and Wicks is going to be this guy for us.
This is exactly the kind of back Leach will be bringing in going forward. As defenses have to go with smaller, quicker packages, these kinds of backs are the most effective way to get production out of the ground game because they can get yards after initial contact. He will fit very nicely into the system and complement the rest of his classmates very well.
Wicks gave us a scare there with that Washington rumor but he’s ours and we’re very happy about that!
