Washington State Basketball GameDay Huddle: Cal Bears
By Josh Davis
Hey there Coug fans, just a quick Huddle here before the Cal tipoff at 1 on Pac-12 Networks. We didn’t talk about the Stanford game on Wednesday. Honestly, I was a little heartbroken and dejected, didn’t get to see it and really at that point there was a “couldn’t care less” attitude about me. I know it’s the wrong one to have, but we find the darndest ways to lose these games and we’re slowly slipping out of any relevancy in Pac-12 play (and after just 2 games).
No doubt today the Cougs can get us back on track! Cal got hammered by Washington earlier this week (62-47), and while I don’t nearly expect us to do the same type of damage to them, I do expect that we can get a much needed win. So here we are, hour from tipoff, and the Cougs are bigger than the NFL playoffs for me today.
We really need a guy like Dexter Kernich-Drew to come up big today. He’s been nearly non-existent after a somewhat hot start for him and it’s apparent that on any given night we need a 3rd guy (outside of Lacy, Ladd or Motum) that can step up and be productive. That guy is Kernich-Drew. If all 3 of the aforementioned scorers did it consistently together I wouldn’t be saying this, but it seems that only one of Ladd or Lacy comes to play on any given night. Hopefully that changes, but until then we really need someone to stretch the floor.
Anyways, gonna let you get to setting the tube. Come on Cougs, need this one bad today.
Go Cougs!
