Tonight marks what should be another Cougar victory against the “Blue Bengal” Tigers, a so far winless squad out of Jackson, Mississippi. I might go so far as to say Ken Bone and co. could dress the ladies above and play them for a more competitive game tonight. No I’m kidding, but this does seem rather elementary.

JSU is a historical all-black school, part of the SWAC Conference, which WSU has had particular success against over the past few seasons, especially at the expense of Mississippi Valley State. Like you might think, JSU is known more for their band than their basketball teams, although football has been historically pretty darn good.

This is one of those games that doesn’t even begin to scare me, or anybody, as are each of the next 3. Buffalo will be coming off of 2 nice victories against Niagara and Milwaukee, but a 13 day layoff and inferior athletes should prove the difference in Seattle. Idaho State is, well, Idaho State. I am however worried about the efficiency with which the Cougs begin to play over the next 3 games, getting ready for Washington and the start of Pac-12 play on Jan. 5. Is it that close already?

But back to this game, the Tigers are 0-6 and have been blown off of the court in each game so far. Granted they are playing BCS level opponents, but it’s sad the way they have been demolished. They came kinda close against Texas Tech, losing 85-74, but are coming off of a 120-67 drubbing by Saint Mary’s just 2 nights ago, so they will not be fired up about playing this game tonight against the Pac-12’s leading scorer.

If you don’t have anything to do tonight, head to Beasley and watch the Cougs put it on somebody. Unless you’re heading to Seattle for the Hardwood Classic it’ll be your last chance for almost 3 weeks to see them in person. Me, I gotta head an hour and a half South to referee a high school basketball game tonight, so hopefully the weather holds. I’ll be looking forward to seeing a big score by the Cougs when I get back!

Go Cougs!
