We’ve heard what happened, we know what our own opinions are, but we haven’t really talked about the effect it will have on this football team. Granted, there are only 2 full games remaining in the season, but it’s about more than that. After all, Wilson is/was only a junior in the program and hadn’t yet decided on his NFL future or draft status. But it’s about even more than that too.

It’s about his ex-teammates, now his ex-family. It’s about the state of Cougar football and the state of perception in Cougar football. It’s about the team and it’s work ethic, along with their desire to get better. And it’s about Mike Leach and his control of the entire program, not to mention his expectations and the new expectations he is trying to instill in Cougar Nation.

After Washington State rallied against UCLA to make it a one score contest after a 37-7 halftime deficit on Saturday night, Mike Leach weighed in with a single thought about the whole fiasco of Wilson’s leaving and inexplicable comments.

"Well, clearly there’s some addition by subtraction because our effort today was outstanding. But I’m not going to comment on anybody who’s not on this team. We’re moving forward here.”"

Pretty straight forward isn’t it? Leach believes a cancer is gone from his nucleus and clearly he’s excited about the results that ensued, but he doesn’t really want to get into the past. Just the future.

Go Cougs!
