Hey there Coug/Hawk fans and all Hawk fans around the Northwest. Starting a little NFL weekly update mapping out my thoughts on the happenings in the NFL’s NFC West. If you didn’t know, along with being a Cougar fan, I’m a major Hawks fan as well. There are multiple reasons for this, the first of which is that my father was teammates with Reuben Mayes at WSU and as we all know, Reuben played with the good guys in the NFL. The other is of course that they are the most local team and I have an affinity for that beautiful Seahawk Blue.

Anyways my brother is a San Fran fan so booo there. This piece won’t be anything other than my thoughts on the way the day went in the Conference. Ok, so obviously things didn’t go so well for the Seahawks today. The Rams have this guy named Greg Zurlein and he has a ridiculous leg. 4 field goals, including a 58 AND 60 yarder, did in the Seahawks today, along with a trick play on a fake field goal that left Amendola in the corner of the end zone by himself. We tried that play in high school and it worked to perfection, we even told the ref it was coming, but he threw the flag for “Deception”. Serious, that was the call! LOL.

Seattle still had a great chance to win the game at the end, bur tight end Anthony McCoy tripped on the linebacker’s foot on his way to an out route inside the 20 with a minute left. Of course Russell Wilson threw it and with nobody there to catch it for us, the Rams caught it to win the game 19-13. Still, Marshawn was at his “Beast Mode” best today, helping me win my fantasy game to go 3-1 on the year in my league. YES! The best part about the game?…

The Rams are better defensively under new coach John Fox and the NFC West is back to respectability from top to bottom. The Cards and 49ers also won today, in different fashion. The Niners destroyed the Jets, 37-0 and the Cardinals really broke my heart by going 4-0 with an OT comeback win against Miami. Not a good weekend for me, couldn’t even get a Husky loss to feel good about. I’ll have to wait till next week to get a victory. Nuts!
