Washington State Cougars: Oh My Gosh, It’s Almost #FootballSeason
By Caleb Davis
My oh my, it’s almost here! With the NFL Pre-Season starting last night with Arizona vs New Orleans, Football season can be felt in the air and even though I’m in the Bay, I’m back with All Coug’d Up to bring you a long time Cougs View into Cougar Football. What an exciting year to be a Coug. It’s been a long time coming, and this is the year it will pay off. As Cougs, we’ve struggled, suffered heat ache, sat in the snow through pain but most of all, we’ve endured. Get excited and have faith my friends because the Palouse, is once again a place that matters in football. Don’t let other bloggers discourage you, don’t let other fans around the Pac12 make you doubt what we have there in Pullman, great times this season will be enjoyed by Coug fans around the Nation.
Lets get to the reasons why we’re about to be in a bowl this year.
Lets start where our offense starts, Jeff Tuel. Healthy, focused, motivated and… what the heck? is that the same kid? Jeff is looking great and has put on some serious “Healthy” weight over the summer. His decisions are fast and well advised, he moves quicker in the pocket, and oh yeah he’s smarter. We have a quarterback in Jeff unlike we’ve had in a long time (Personally I think better than Brink)
Next um am I just crazy or does no one take our Wide Receivers seriously. I think we should talk about it. I mean we have Oregon-style wide outs and everyone is acting like “well, they’re OK.” Lets be real, there are some great wide outs around the Pac12 but no one has as many threats as WSU or need I say it, Marquess Wilson. Then when you look at who is going to be giving them the ball, lets just say we should have some high scores on that beautiful Martin Stadium scoreboard. Even when teams like Oregon come to town, I don’t know if we’ll slow them down, but I’d be surprised if we WEREN’T running right next to them all game.
Finally, our D, top to bottom is majorly improved. Now I’m not saying they’re above mid level Pac12, but I will say they will give our offense a chance this year, more stops means more offensive possessions and the more our offense has the ball, the more the rest of the Pac will hate us.
Looking through previews though everyone is looking awesome! Get ready Coug fans, August 30th, we will prove to the nation that this team is new and not to be taken lightly. Lets get it in! GO COUGS!
