This was a surprising commit, just recently he said he would take thing slow. Ultimately I had a feeling that he was going to be a Coug. Thing I like about this kid is his size which Breske likes about all his corners. The bad news? He could end up at Safety, Sanders got destroyed on a 7 on 7 tournament at Skyline a few weeks back, but there were some teammates out so that could of hurt them. Jake Worthen of Scout.com noted that he is worried about his speed and his technique… which can be fixed. It is still nice to get some depth at Corner if that does end up being his position in college.
He has only 1 other offer, which is from Nevada but has been drawing interest from UW just like our recent WR commit. Hard to say as of now how he’ll do in college because of how poor he did at Skyline recently, but I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes out on him this upcoming season and go catch a few games at Eastside.
It does seem like the coaches are really on these guys as of now to commit, which is good because we’re really low on our commits. The next guy I can see committing is Peyton Pelluer from Skyline High School, he is one of my favorite LB’s that we are recruiting. Only bad thing may be his height and some schools have backed off on him because of that.
Will be sure to keep you updated when we hear anything else on another commit or any of the Recruiting experts opinion on Markell or anyone else.
GO COUGS!
