Brophy Prep QB Expected To Make Decision Today: WSU or ASU?

facebooktwitterreddit

For a couple of weeks now we’ve been vehemently following Tyler Bruggman’s progress on his decision through sources close to WSU Sports Blog and others, waiting for anything that would help define if Mike Leach would nab his first high profile Qb prep star here at Washington State. In that time it had become apparent that Bruggman had narrowed his choices down to the maroon and gold of Arizona State or the crimson and gray of WSU.

Earlier this week he took a trip to the ASU 7 on 7 passing camp and we all know that the last place you saw always has the potential to be the most attractive. New Pac-12 coaches Todd Graham and Mike Leach have really been going after this kid for weeks now and each fan base has been getting excited to sport a new, bonafide prep star in their Qb rotation. Finally today we think Bruggman will make his announcement, as we got this (possible good news) tweet from WSU Sports Blog last night:

"RT @azc_obert Expecting Brophy QB Tyler Bruggman to pull trigger Friday either WSU or Arizona State. Who is it? Gut says WSU."

Our information on Bruggman based on “ESPN Recruiting Nation Football”:

Tyler Bruggman is a four star athlete out of Pheonix (AZ) Brophy Prep. He’s listed at 6’1, 190 and ranks out as the 17th rated pocket passer in prep football. Has also received offers from such schools as Indiana, Michigan State, Arkansas, BYU and Houston. As a junior Bruggman threw for over 2500 yards with 37 tds and only 2 interceptions, so he’s very accurate. Also he possesses “above average” athleticism for a pocket passer. My assessment of Bruggman’s video reveals that the kid has a good arm and can make all the throws, as well as having good feet in the pocket. He is adept at throwing the ball on time, which we all know is a staple trait of every successful Qb in the Mike Leach system.

ASU or WSU, either way Tyler Bruggman will be the 4th quarterback addition to the Pac-12 in the top 17 at his position, joining #2 Qb Max Browne (USC), #3 Qb Ryan Burns (Stanford) and #15 Qb Jared Goff (Cal). Wouldn’t it be something if Leach snagged this kid in his first class? We’ll make sure to keep you updated on which way Bruggman decides and where our qbs stand all day here on All Coug’d Up!
