The Arizona Cardinals have made it official with their first round draft pick, Deone Bucannon has signed a four-year, $7.7 million contract.

The former Washington State Cougar was the fifth overall defensive back and second safety selected at No. 27 in the 2014 NFL Draft in May. He will also receive a fifth-year team option from Arizona, as well as $6 million in guarantees and a $3.93 million signing bonus. He was the final Card selection to be signed.

Under the new agreements, NFL rookie contracts aren’t what they used to be, but that’s still a good chunk of money for a kid who was never recruited very highly. It’s pretty awesome to think about some of these kids making their dreams come true, especially when they’re representing your school.

A big CONGRATULATIONS from the WSU community Deone!
