WSU Recruiting: Highly Touted Tacoma Prospect Ahmaad Rorie to Visit Pullman This Weekend

A few days ago I wrote an article on Ahmaad Rorie and how much Ernie Kent could use his talents, especially in this particular recruiting class. What a gift his commitment would be, but first it will be Kent’s job to blow Rorie away when he visits the Washington State campus this week.

Rorie won’t be alone in Pullman, as Nye Redding from Westwind Academy in Pheonix will be tripping as well. It’s not clear as to whether or not Redding’s teammate Lyrik Shreiner will be on the trip, but if the Cougs can charm Redding and Rorie enough it won’t matter. WSU only has two scholarships remaining for the 2014 recruiting season.

According to Cougfan, Ahmad Rorie is believed to have taken a trip to Washington this past weekend. If that is indeed the case, we could very well be seeing a quick decision by the coveted scoring point guard. He called his release from his letter of intent from Cal a “gift from God”. WSU is hoping he’s the blessing out of nowhere that they’ve been waiting for.

WSU currently has commits from Seattle PG Tremaine Isabell, Palos Verdes PG/SG Jackie Davis, Jr. and Los Angeles JC PF Aaron Cheatum.

It might be dead around campus this weekend as finals are finishing up and students will be heading out for the Summer, which could make this an early challenge for the coaching staff. It’s the type of challenge the Cougs were only dreaming of a little over a week ago though.
