3-Star DE Jalen Canty Signs With Washington State Cougars on Signing Day

Ioane Gauta was a massive loss, but the returning line corp is equally massive.  Xavier Cooper and Toni Pole lead a group of big guys that has become famous in their anonymity.  We don’t hear their names as often, but that is mainly due to them taking up two or three blockers allowing the linebackers to claim glory.  Mike Leach and Mike Breske have set these guys on edge, and they are hungry, ready to light up Pac-12 QBs and tailbacks in ways yet unknown.

Does anyone remember Ropati Pitoitua? that is what we can expect from Jalen Canty.  His 6’8″ frame will make quick passes and screens difficult for opposing Quarterbacks for years.  On top of that we can count on a player who is committed to family and friendships while in Pullman. Canty rejected offers from the Dawgs and the Ducks, so he knows what he is getting into.

His height can also provide hope for a frustrated hoop fanbase as Jalen hopes to suit up on the hardwood as well while on the Palouse. If his hands prove adept on the court, Leach may end up adding a true tight end to his offense in the coming years.

Frankly, for shear size, Jalen Canty, may be the most exciting signature we see over the fax today.
