The Cougar linebackers have been really good in space making tackles, above average even. But honestly, they’ve still been underwhelming in the true sense of the word.

Cyrus Coen, Darryl Monroe and Justin Sagote sit directly behind Deone for tackles on the team. However, they haven’t forced a single turnover this season. More often than not, these guys are in good position and make a sure-handed tackles to this point in the season, I expected a bigger “game-changing” contribution and we haven’t received it.

The last thing I’ll say about the LB’s is that teams are really taking advantage of these guys through the air. It’s not necessarily their fault, but they are really getting beat a majority of the time and it has to be better against the rest of the schedule or the Cougs are going to struggle to get off the field.

LB’s get a C+
