Miami Dolphins:

Stacked Against the Pick:

The Miami Dolphins are definitely a team who has made a lot of noise this past off-season and are still looking to make some noise. It’s been a while since they’ve been a threat to the New England Patriots in the AFC East. But, could this be the season they can finally turn the corner? It may possibly be that case known that it looks like they have a QB and some solid Wide Receivers. This team definitely has the potential to make some noise and they have a nice amount of draft picks to get even better, which sounds a little scary right?

They have 9 draft picks, which is a fairly large amount compared to the rest of the league who have just under 5 draft picks. The question is what will they address? No matter if you already have solid players at Wide Receiver, Defensive Tackle, and Running Back. Every team is looking to improve in every position, regardless of who is already at the position. The Miami Dolphins most glaring needs are to improve at the Safety, Running Back, and Offensive Line Position. The number one need is really offensive line, In order for them to contend in the AFC East they will need to be able to protect Ryan Tannehill somewhat because you can have solid Wide Receivers but if you don’t have any time to throw it’s going to be a struggle in the passing game.

The Perfect Storm:

Travis Long is a underrated player in this year’s draft and many teams would love to have him. The Dolphins on the other hand wouldn’t be a good fit or maybe even an option due to the Dannell Ellerbe signing earlier in the off-season.

The Perfect Storm would be the Dolphins looking into a back up role LB/DE and no better guy than that is in the later rounds is Travis Long. Rather than playing right away learning for a year could be beneficial to him and could easily come in when Ellerbe is fatigued or even injured.

Likelihood Long Gets Drafted by the Dolphins:

D (5th Round)

Linebacker isn’t a position of need for the Dolphins, which is huge reason this is very unlikely to happen.
