Stats: 14/20 FG

What he accomplished in 2012: Andrew Furney had a very strong junior campaign for the Cougars. He started out with a very solid start to the season and had some very huge kicks throughout.

It starts from the amazing sixty yard field goal against Eastern Washington and finished with the game winning Apple Cup field goal in overtime. This was a very disappointing season for WSU but Furney was the most consistent player on the team.

Some may argue that he was just a kicker, but regardless it showed he was valuable to this team when a certain kicker in purple went wide right. Thankfully we don’t have Travis Coons!

What I expect in 2013: I expect another solid season from Furney to cap off his great career at WSU. He should probably be around 16/20 on FG’s. It’s hard to really say how big of a potential a kicker has at making it in the NFL, Reid Forrest was arguably the best punter in the country a few years back but never made it in the NFL.

It would definitely be nice to see him and all of the other seniors make it to a bowl game but at the end of the day he’ll go down as one of the most productive kickers in Washington State history.
