Washington State Football GameDay Huddle: Washington Huskies

It’s finally here folks, Thanksgiving is barely over and the state of Washington will be having a second helping of leftovers to celebrate their football school today. Hopefully the Cougs are a better team on this particular Friday, even though the season has been a less than forgiving one for Wazzu. But Cougar or Husky, at the end of the day the winner will be infinitely undefeated in the state till next Fall (wink, wink).

Nothing says “Holiday Football” like FOX, so both teams are fighting for some national attention going into the bowl season (even though WSU won’t be a part of it technically). That’s kinda the point though, this is Washington State’s bowl game in 2012. A chance to put this entire season of missed opportunities, disappointment and behind-the-scenes dysfunction behind us. If the Cougs win, everyone will forget about Marquess Wilson and the Cougs will be able to move on into the Spring. If the Huskies win, we’re looking at questions, questions, questions about the loss of #86 and Leach’s effectiveness as a college football coach after a two year hiatus for 6-8 months.

As everyone knows, there are no moral victories when facing your bitter arch-rival and there are definitely no moral victories in losing to a team who’s colors are represented by prom queens nation-wide. Let’s win this one Cougs, let’s turn the page today and change the attitude from the entire 2012 season. It’s just 1 game, but it’s the only game between now and next year, so let’s be 1-0 all summer long! Let’s send Tuel, Long and the other Seniors out right, the way they deserve and give something to be thankful for this holiday season (even if it’s only that we don’t have to wear purple to rep our football team!)

Go Cougs!
