And it’s official! The Washington State Cougars are going to be on College Football Primetime to open the season and then again 2 weeks later at UNLV. ESPN will take both games, airing the BYU matchup on Thursday, Aug 30 (opening night) at 7:15 pm in Provo, while the UNLV game is slated as a Friday night tilt on Sept 14 at 6 pm in Las Vegas.
Anyone think the Cougs could start 4-0 and be on the verge of a national ranking going into the Oregon game? With Eastern Washington sandwiched between these two games and then Colorado coming to town right after that, it’s quite possible. With the national exposure, even with a loss to Oregon, a win against the Beavers a week later might provoke the pollsters. We’ll see and we’re a long ways from being even 1-0, as typically our boys don’t travel well in week 1, but it’s something to think about. And oh yeah there’s the storyline with Leach and BYU (his alma mater)… Should be really fun.
Go Cougs!
