Mike Leach is a family man, whether it be fathering a group of football players 24/7, participating in the fraternities of college coaching circles, or simply doing what the majority of us do when it comes to family time … the whole husband and father thing at home.

Leach has accomplished more in his life than a lot of us will forget, what with the mastery of a truly innovative football attack, publishing two books, shooting a bear, climbing the Swiss Alps… ok I embellished that one, but seriously I’m sure he’s climbed something. The point is that Mike Leach is like the guy who drinks the Dos Equis, ‘the most interesting man in the World’. Sometimes though, if you’re so interesting, you don’t necessarily accomplish those normal things that make life so worth it.

Yes, for all of Mike Leach’s accomplishments, there is something that he hasn’t done… but fortunately for him, he will . Later this Summer he will travel to Atlanta to see his oldest daughter, who is coming up on giving birth to Mike’s first grandchild, which of course will make him a first-time grandfather.

“Grandpa Leach” sounds kinda odd to say doesn’t it? Nonetheless it seems highly appropriate that a man of Leach’s experience in all things ‘life’ would be a wily grandpa. The stories that kid is in for! Leach is also heading to Tulsa this Summer to see his second daughter get married.

Busy Summer for our beloved head coach and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Leach family for their soon-to-be additions to the family! Hope he remembers to avoid the chalk-talk at these events, as I can only imagine the daughters’ reactions. But what am I saying!? This is a guy who talks more about life and adventure anyway!
