It’s only Spring but here we are on the day of the annual Crimson and Gray Game, where Washington State will battle it out in friendly-fire to see where they stand as a unit.

As we know, Mike Leach likes to run a more traditional “game”-style setup, which is much better as a fan than the “drills” that so many teams run throughout the country, but a few factors are involved in how the game will run. Last season special teams was largely left off the field, but one has to imagine if the weather is better they may get a better look today.

Also, while the Cougs were scheduled to run about 80 plays last season, they went well over that to better get a look at some young talent and some game-style battles in the trenches. With a more experienced group, expect the scrimmage to run more in a 60-80 play range, with starters like Connor Halliday taking less reps than the 2 and 1/2 quarters he did in 2013.

Below is a link to the Pac-12 live stream of the game. It’s been far too long since we saw some game action from our Cougs, today is our reprieve for the next five months or so. Make sure to also follow our Twitter @allcougdup, as we will be talking about the game after 1:30.
