WSU Football Recruiting: Rahshead Johnson to USC, Where Do Cougs Go For CB Now?

facebooktwitterreddit

Rahshead Johnson was a high-level Washington State target and it looked for all the world like he might be headed to Pullman, if not for Sarkisian making run number two at him at USC.

So the question becomes, where do the Cougs go from here to find another quality corner, where they are clearly still lacking after three seniors with most of the playing time graduate? Remember, 3-star Kevin Griffin (tanked #52) and JC prospect Joe Turner are already committed, so the cupboard isn’t all bare, but there is need for one more. Right now it seems to be between two that Wazzu is trying to get.

Cottondale, AL 2-star Patrick Porter is high on the radar. The 5’11.5, 169 pound back is ranked #163 but the Cougs like his talents and think he might be a gem from the deep South. He is choosing between Minnesota, Miami (FL) and Wazzu and has no shortage of interest coming his way.

The other is 3-star Sulaiman Hameed from Alameda, CA. He is a more highly rated recruit at #109 and is gaining recruiting traction after an injury slowed him down heading into his senior season. Very similar to Porter, Hameed is 5’11, 175 lbs. He seems to be looking at ASU and WSU the hardest.

Both will visit later this month.
