WSU Football Recruiting: RB Squally Canada Commits Crimson for Mike Leach

facebooktwitterreddit

Washington State got their 5th offensive commit of the week when Bryant “Squally” Canada verballed on Saturday afternoon. Thank you twitter.

Canada is a 5’11, 180 pound (some sources are saying 190 lbs) back out of Milpitas, CA. He’s rated 3-stars and the #56 back in the nation by Scout. He racked up over nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards as a senior with 26 touchdowns. You can see for yourself how electric this kid is in the HUDL highlights linked below.

So here we are jumping on another running back with quicks and power and now the future looks really bright at the position now. Canada adds to last year’s duo of Gerard Wicks and Jamal Morrow, with Marcus Mason returning in 2014 for his senior campaign and the duo of Teondray Caldwell and Jeremiah Laufasa coming back as juniors.

Another note, besides the fact that Canada is so highly rated, with Olito Thompson not looking like he’ll make it to WSU for what we presume to be academic issues (at least), this is actually a pretty big pickup by the Wazzu coaching staff offensively. Big ups to Jim Mastro and the staff for getting this kid to commit to WSU.
