1: 6 Wins with 2 Left

YES, I said TWO games left. Ok, so the thought of returning to the middle of the Pac-12 is being overplayed this week, right? Actually, let’s not understate the fact that our Cougies have the opportunity to get EIGHT wins on this season and finish no further than THIRD in the Pac-12 North! That’s 8 wins (including potential bowl), 3rd place in the division.

Win out with a UW win over OSU this weekend is all it will take and that’s no crazy scenario. It’s not going to be easy, in fact it would probably be easier to end up 5th than it’s going to be to win either game left, but that’s why Mike Leach harps on “winning the next play” and not trying to bite off more than you can chew. I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t think the Cougars can win these last two, the way it’s all stacking up, but it still has to be accomplished.

From a national standpoint, we can chill on the six-win kick, we get it. Six isn’t all that impressive, which is why not even that mark will guarantee a bowl in this conference. But six by the end of THIS week surely is and when you haven’t seen the mark in six seasons, it kinda feels like it should be a lot bigger deal.
