Washington State Senior safety Deone Becannon has been terrorizing opposing offenses all season long.  In the spirit of halloween CBS sports released the Top 10: Scariest players in college football and yeah… Deone Bucannon definitely made that list.

The first thing I said when i saw Deone (after he put on the extra weight over the summer) was “Somebody is gonna get hurt”.  Bucannon has always been a big hitter but often penalized for his big hits, this year he’s adjusted his game and is an even bigger threat to anyone who makes it to the second level of the Washington State defense.  Bucannon made a statement in the season opener against Auburn with this punishing hit on Auburns running back, Corey Grant.

Deone has also accounted for 7 turnovers with 4 interceptions and forcing 3 fumbles.  Bucannon is a big play maker but he is also a leader of this defense.  He will be missed after his senior year but I think everyone that has ever seen him play knows, this man still has a lot of big plays left in him.

Bucannon has the best opportunity of his carrier this year to lead his team to a bowl and yes they need every snap he has left in him to get there.  Deone has been a hard worker and has been a big part of the rebuilding of Washington State… If he can leave the program with a bowl appearance, that would be amazing to see.

Knowing his journey from a scrawny big hitter he was as a freshman, to the NFL ready DB his is today, I can’t think of a more perfect end to his WSU Career.  It starts tonight vs ASU.

Pretty awesome how Wazzu keeps making these types of lists.  Go freaking Cougs!
