WSU Football Recruiting: Four-Star WR/DB Singleton Really Considering Wazzu As a Top Choice?

facebooktwitterreddit

Four star receiver and defensive back (safety) Deion Singleton is saying right now that Washington State is among the top of his list when it comes to West Coast schools that he is considering.

Singleton is a native of Florida but recently moved out to Pasco, where he is playing at Chiawana HS.

He holds more than 15 offers (not including WSU as a known offer just yet), including USF, Kentucky, Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, TCU and others. When asked about what schools he is now considering or are interested in him on the West Coast, Singleton had this to say:

"Well, right now I’m hearing from UW, WSU, and we’re working on Oregon and USC.  I’m looking toward Oregon, USC, and Washington State University.  I’ll be taking visits soon.."

Sounds like Mike Leach and the Cougars are making an early impression to be in that conversation and it’s something that’s becoming a little more common (highly touted recruits adding WSU to their list of interests). Hopefully an official visit can be set soon for the Cougs to get their fair opportunity at really showcasing.

WSU could certainly use more quality depth in the secondary and Singleton fits right into the new focus of tall corners at nearly 6’2″. I say corners as I think he’d be a bit small for safety. He would also be a prime candidate for receiver too, should he decide to come to Pullman.
