The newest American all-sports channel, FoxSports 1, will launch at the beginning of August. The Cougs will face USC as their first conference match-up of the season on FS1 on September 7.

FoxSports 1 is the newest in national brand sports tv, of course branded by Fox and basically putting out their own ESPN-type label. It is supposedly set to launch in around 90 million homes. For more insight on just exactly what FS1 is, where you can find it and an easy to look at tv schedule to this point, go to CougFan.

What this means for Washington State is that the Cougs get at least three games on national television. ESPN is picking up the Thursday night, Halloween contest with Arizona State in Pullman on the 31st, while Fox gets the Apple Cup, day after Thanksgiving on Nov 29th at Husky Stadium.

In my estimation, the game against Auburn to open the season on August 31st would likely be picked up by a national broadcaster as well (likely ESPN or ESPN2), but that is yet to be determined at this time. If the Cougs are any good, dates with Stanford (Seattle game) Oregon State, Oregon and Arizona all stand out as games that Versus or ESPN2 might pick up as well. All other dates and times will be set during the season.

Go Cougs!
